SmartKids with Learning Disabilities - Social Skills are the Key to Success: Teaching Kids with LD and ADHD - Ridgefield - April 21

posted Apr 12, 2018, 8:48 AM by Diane Willcutts
Presenter:  Dr. Marcia Eckerd

Kids with learning disabilities and/or ADHD often struggle to navigate the unspoken rules of social interactions. Relationships have more to do with success and satisfaction than grades in school. For children who have trouble making friends, social skills must be taught explicitly. This program will cover the building blocks of social skills: body language, tone, word choice, emotional self-control, seeing the big picture, predicting outcomes, adaptability, and social recovery.
Time: 9:30 – 11:00 am
Place: Ridgefield Library, 472 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT
